The Raiders & American Cancer Society Visited Kitchen on Fire!
The Oakland Raiders and cancer survivors from the ACS recently joined us for a cooking class. Read more about the event below.
In what was a night to remember, several players from the Oakland Raiders football team recently joined cancer survivors from the American Cancer Society for a special cooking class with us.
As part of the NFL’s Crucial Catch initiative, Raiders players Reggie Nelson, Chris Warren III, Jason Cabinda, Marquel Lee, Shilique Calhoun, Kyle Wilbur and Clinton McDonald hosted 25 cancer survivors at our Kitchen on Fire Oakland location on October 23, 2018.
About the Event
The event saw several team building activities take place between the players and their guests, with delicious dishes being created with the assistance of our renowned chefs. The event emphasized the importance of having a healthy and balanced diet, giving several dinner and snack recipes to those who took part in the get-together.
What We Cooked
Our chefs at Kitchen on Fire Oakland crafted several one-of-a-kind dishes for the event, including sushi rolls, kabobs, kale shakes and more. The Raiders players and their guests from the American Cancer Society were able to then get hands-on and make the dishes on their own with a bit of help from our team. Once complete, they were able to enjoy all the dishes that they had helped make.
A Special Thanks to Those Involved
Kitchen on Fire Oakland would like to thank the American Cancer Society and the Oakland Raiders for letting us be a small part of their special evening. It was a privilege to work with these two wonderful organizations, and we look forward to having them back in the future!
