About Kitchen on fire
Founded in 2005, Kitchen on Fire has a location located in Berkeley’s Epicurious Garden and one in Oakland. We began as an expansion and continuation of the gourmet cuisine legacy started by Alice Waters at Chez Panisse more than 30 years ago.
Our mission is to help you integrate food that is both delicious and good for you into your life. When we succeed, you are better equipped to gift yourself great food and a better wellbeing for the rest of your life.
We offer a warm, intimate, and unique environment where Chef Olive and professional, seasoned chef instructors share their knowledge and experience. We cover ingredient and tool instruction first and offer valuable nutritional information in a lecture before students dive into the menu for the day. Get ready for hands-on cooking classes with our chefs and assistants while learning interesting techniques and delicious, easy-to-duplicate recipes! With two locations, in Berkeley and Oakland, California, Kitchen on Fire has the most fun cooking classes in the East Bay and San Francisco Area
Chef Olivier ("Olive") Said is the founder and co-owner of Kitchen on Fire and one of the East Bay’s most popular culinary personalities. Chef Olive teaches many of the most popular Kitchen on Fire classes, leads team-building and other events, and is also a Nutritionist and Wellness Consultant.
Lisa Michelle Miller, BS, NC
Lisa Miller is co-owner of Kitchen on Fire, a Nutrition Consultant, and member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals. Lisa graduated with honors and earned a certification in Nutrition Consulting from the state licensed Bauman College, College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts in Berkeley, California.
