In the three years since Kitchen on Fire has opened, thousands of students have walked up the Epicurious Garden stairway in Berkeley’s famed Gourmet Ghetto, past the red brick walls and into the fiery red cooking school to learn how to expertly prepare food from two of the culinary world’s greatest superheroes – Chefs Mike C. and Olivier Said. I was once one of those students, but the fates had a different destiny in store for me and I have recently found myself to be in their clutches working as their trusty (so they think) apprentice. Somehow over the course of the last six months this predicament has placed me at the mercy of the mighty pen (or computer screen in this case) with the launching of the brand new and unbelievably cool Kitchen on Fire Blog.
