Cooking Party Styles
Open Kitchen
Our “controlled chaos” or “free-for-all” style allows guests to circulate the room and get involved in each dish as they like. Chefs are available at each station to ensure the dish is completed should the guests circulate too much and leave a dish stranded! This format works well for cooking parties and client appreciation events.
Cooking in Teams
In this format, the guests are separated into teams and each team follows a recipe through to the finish. It’s a little more structure, a little less chaotic, and there’s no competition. This is a good style for team buildings because it ensures interaction and you can decide who will work together.
We can put your party into teams (randomly) or you may do so. The number of teams that you’ll have cooking each dish is determined by the number of dishes that you have in your menu (i.e. if you have 5 dishes, you will have 5 teams cooking separate dishes from the menu simultaneously).
Iron Chef Competition
A friendly competition in which the groups go head to head and are judged in five main categories: Taste, Presentation, Team-work, Cleanliness/Organization and Timing. The competitive edge of this format really spices things up! If you like, we can organize prizes for the winning team.
Iron Chef Pro
The ultimate chef competition. We provide 3-5 teams with two mystery ingredients: one protein (such as beef, pork, chicken, fish, etc) and one fruit or vegetable, plus a large selection of other ingredients from our pantry to create dishes that will dazzle our Chef/Judge. You will be preparing enough food to feed everyone in the cooking party. It is not required to use both secret ingredients. Please request the special pricing for this format.
Team Building at KoF
Cooking with your Co-workers! It’s one of the best ways to get to know your co-workers better, bond with new team members, or show staff appreciation for a job well done. We have specialized for years in leading events that are not only deliciously fun, but also create positive learning experiences for everyone on your staff. A few of our past clients include Gap/Old Navy, Microsoft, GE Capital, Pfizer, Yahoo, Google, Adobe, Accenture and Charles Schwab (just to name a few).
Recipes resemble office memos for big projects and teams must strategize together to excel in the designated categories to win the competition. This provides a great framework to develop and strengthen relationships and hone good work habits. It's a really fun event and allows people a chance to work together and share a wonderful meal!
